The First Credit Bureau Reporting Manual

I had the opportunity to speak with Jennifer Maisano, the President & CEO of Credit Bureau Strategy Consulting, LLC.  She has written the First Credit Bureau Reporting manual and I could not wait to share the information with you, I think this manual is something very much needed in our industry and will be a tremendous help to our industry.

In response to the overwhelming need for Credit Bureau Reporting guidance for the Collections Industry, Credit Bureau Strategy Consulting, LLC has released the industry’s first supplemental instructional manual dedicated to Credit Bureau Reporting instructions, strategies and regulatory audit requirements.

The new manual is aptly titledCredit Bureau Reporting – Data Accuracy & Integrity: Supplemental Reporting Guidelines & Regulatory Audit Requirements for Collections Industry Reporting. This supplemental manual approaches Credit Bureau Reporting from a practical application standpoint, answering many of the questions left open by CDIA’s CRRG (the Metro 2 manual) while providing invaluable insight, instructions and recommended data reporting strategies.

Disputes, complaints and litigation often leave Agencies and Debt Buyers stumped. This supplemental manual provides key Credit Bureau Reporting instructions, strategies and recommendations on topics relative to the Collections Industry such as:

  • Data Security
  • Bankruptcy Reporting
  • Co-Borrowers and Joint Liability
  • Specialized Portfolio Reporting, including Medical, Student Loan, Returned Check, Utility Companies and Child Support
  • Portfolio Acquisition due diligence steps and strategies for optimizing profitability and compliance
  • Developing mandatory audit processes required to comply with FCRA and the soon to be released Section 312 of the FACT Act (including a sample template for audit reports, other documentation, and more!).
