Hospitals, doctors, emergency rooms and clinics are all very concerned with customer service, which might explain their reluctance to utilize a collection agency. If you decide to do health care collections, keep in mind that you may need to brush up on your customer service skills. Many of the accounts you will be trying to collect on will be local people, keep this in mind when making calls and sending letters. Most hospitals and clinics will continue to do business with the people you are trying to collect from.
To win a health care provider’s business a collection agency must be willing to put customer service at the top of its benefits or priority list. Your reputation as a considerate, law abiding agency will be very important to this type of client.
